SINC BREAKFAST SET-UP
- Buy bagels, the number to be determined by an estimate of anticipated
participants. A dozen is normal. Possibilities are Sam’s
on Coldspring or St Paul Street for price and selection, or Panera’s
in Towson for variety and because they will slice them for you.
If you prefer you may buy them on Saturday, slice and bag ahead
for Sunday.
- Try to arrive at the Meeting House by 8:30.
- Run the water through the system until it runs cold. Fill the
teapots and heat---it is faster to heat on the stove then in the
pot that you fill to put out on the table in the dining room.
Please note that the gas burners are not automatic; use the mechanical
match hanging up on the pot rack over the table. When water is
hot, carefully pour it into one of the large coffee makers that
is kept on the counter by the windows.
- Tea, sugar, instant coffee, if needed, and creamer are kept
in the upper cabinet to the left of the stove and in the storeroom
above the kitchen.
- Make regular coffee and decaf using the Mr. Coffee pots on the
kitchen counter by the window or in the large urns. Coffee is
in the refrigerator. It is preferable to make the small pots in
the kitchen and move them to the dining room since the electrical
outlet under the service table in the dining room seems not to
handle two pots brewing simultaneously and may shut the power
off.
- Slice the bagels if they are not pre-sliced. The bagel slicer
is kept in a box by the window. Regular knives are in the steel
table drawer.
- Cream cheese is in the refrigerator. You may use the supply
that is there for simple lunch.
- Baskets, napkins, plates and cups for coffee and tea are in
the storeroom up the stairs and to the left as you leave the kitchen.
- Do not forget to put out a basket for breakfast donations on
the table with the bagels. The person who buys the bagels reimburses
her/himself from this collection and gives excess donations to
those providing simple lunch. Also put out a plate with a couple
of spoons to act as stirrers.
- Bagels, coffee and tea are arranged on the side table in the
dining room. Hot water is put in one of the large coffee urns
and kept hot. The cords are near the pot and there is a strip
outlet cord under the table in the dining room.
- After the forum meeting, clean up trash and dirty spoons, etc.
You may leave the coffee and tea set up and any extra bagels for
simple lunch. Dispose of the remains of the coffee and wash the
pot. Turn off the hot water.
If you have any questions about breakfast set-up call the clerk
of SINC. You may need a key card to get into the building. If you
do not have one ask one of the other SINC members who lives near
you and has a card.
